All through this website you'll see references to Dog Training, part of the reason for that is so that it will be picked up by the relevant search engines! :-) What we actually want to promote is that we coach people.  We coach people to enable them to help their dog to learn and we coach people so they can understand their dogs and support their dogs mentally.  It may sound a little pretentious but it works.

In our group classes we hope to work with real dog enthusiasts; we have two secure training fields and a clubhouse (The Dog House) with free tea and coffee and usually a biscuit or two.  We take breaks during our training so your dog gets chance to settle (worthwhile training in itself) and you'll get chance to get to know likeminded people or even discuss an issue you have with your dog with one of our IMDT and OCN qualified Dog Trainers.  To find out more about IMDT please click here.

We do have some set term courses but mainly we work on an ongoing basis where you pay monthly in advance for the sessions you can attend, because of this our classes are small but fluid and flexible.

Our training will focus heavily on your relationship with your dog but will also cover some appropriate dog to dog socialisation and sometimes we even swap handlers!  If the dynamics of the dogs within the class works we can use The Dog House in inclement weather and we have specific poor weather training tasks so that each session is a meaningful one.  However, please make sure you dress appropriately for the weather including suitable footwear.

We provide each client a training manual and pride ourselves in providing a service of excellence and quality backed up with reference materials for your use at home.

If you would like to join a group class but we don’t offer the times you would prefer please contact us at office@itsnotthedog.co.uk as often we are considering expanding our classes and may be able to accommodate your request.

As well as group classes we offer 1 to 1 training, Puppy Parties, Canine First Aid Workshops, Walking Workshops and Recall Remedies Workshops all from our Dog Training Facility in Upper Shelton, Bedfordshire (close to the villages of Wootton, Cranfield and Marston Moretaine).

We even offer pre-puppy and rehoming and rescue services free of charge.

Our fields and clubhouse are available for private hire by members of the public and can also be used by other Dog Trainers using non-aversive methods.
